A trip to a wonderland - North of Wales

Last week was a easter weekend and we decided to visit Stonehenge and North wales. We had four days of holidays and with four of my friends we plan our Bank holidays like this. The First day - the Friday we plan to visit Radha Krishna Temple in Coventry as 21st March 2008 was the Gaur poornima- The Birth day of Chatanya maha Prabhu. We celebrated the Birth day with the devotees and at the end we had "Holika Dahan" Function as well. It was a very good experience. For me it was like I am in India and participating in Holi festival. Although the climate was very cold but we had a great time.

Next day morning, we planned to start for Stonehenge around 9:30 a.m. GMT but because of cold weather, we somehow started around 12:30 p.m. GMT. We were five, Bharani - a Geo Scientist in UK firm, Madhu, Bala and Setu all are S/w engineer by profession and myself, and we planned to hire a car and visit the place by car only. So as I was saying we started our journey at 12:30 p.m. GMT on Saturday morning and we reached Stonehenge around 2:30 p.m. GMT. The day was very cold...we have seen snow falls while our way to StoneHenge. Sgtonehenge was awesome, this has been built 7000 years ago ...after this it has been rebuilt two more times. It is very difficult to tell why this has been built but this structure is good misture of Science and mystery. There is some link to this structure and movement of Heavenly bodies like Sun, Moon etc. but till now it is a big mystery for whole world. This site has been declared by World Heritage site by UNO...and it deserves !!...After seeing the structure lots of things were coming to mind...I was thinking about the people of ancient time...they were really intelligent...it was really tough to bring those heavy stones from 245 miles from the Mountains of Wales and build the structure. I will try get more details about this!!!

Next day we started for North of Wales,,,,our first destination was Barmouth which is basically coastal belt of North of Wales. While going to this place on the way we have seen natures wonder...a high mountains half covered with snows and half with greenary ....the cattles ..specially sheeps were on the green landscapes.....there was narrow guage railway line ...where you can see steam engine of 19th century with beautiful boggies.....actually this narrow line connect most of the part of wales....
We spent most of the time in capturing the moments in our camera...while on the way to Barmouth. We reached Bar mouth in the afternoon..the weather was very cold there...the city was small but very beautiful...we had fun on the beach ....the City was protected by mountain from one side where was at the other side there was an atlantic ocean. Overall the city was very small and very beautiful. We had lunch there in an Indian resturant "Alisha"...After that we started for the small city near Snowdonia mountain which is the highest peak of UK. Again on the way enjoyed the beauty of nature to full extent. We reached there in the evening around 5 p.m. GMT....After seeing the small city in the valley of Snowdonia mountain I was shunn....for a while...nature can be so beautiful I never imagined.....very beautiful house...Very old style of lamp post ( 19th century lamp post ) at road side, a beautiful river which is going through the middle of the small village. full of greenary ....and mountains are partly covered with snow ..partly with greenary...I think I don't have enough words to explain the beauty of mother nature...It was Heaven ..that's all I can say ....I wanted to stay there for some more time..unfortunately this was not possible ....I promised to myself that I will come here again ....We stayed there in the night and last day we started for a trip by mountain railway to see the peaks of sonwdonia mountains....This railway 112 years old....which again a honour for any one to travel by this railway to the peak of muntain...the journey through this train was really memorable...and adventurous....Thanks to British engineers who built this railway line 112 years ago...We went to the peaks of mountains ....and saw the white sheet which has been filled every where....it was really beautiful.

While coming back to Nottingham ..I was thinking....there are still some places on this planet which are very closed to mother nature and has not been destroyed by so called great Human beings.

Whenever I am remembering those moments ...I become speechless......and want to go back to same place.
