This month I went to Kiriburu to see my parent, this was after 2 years. This journey was very emotional for me because of lots of reason - one of them was my father has retired from Kiriburu. He was working as School Teacher. I know after this I will never visit Kiriburu in my life because all the employees have to leave this place because you can't buy private property there. I spent my childhood at this place and lots of sweets memories I have abt this place. This place is very special to me and to all those who has spent time there. This place is very small, basically it is a Iron ore mines of RMD SAIL; two small towns are there Kiriburu and Meghahatuburu. In "Ho" Langauge "Kiri" means Elephant and "buru" means Forest - the Forest of Elelphants. This place is in Saranda range of forest.
The social life there is very amicable, we have never find conflict on the basis of religion, cast etc etc.. We celebrate all the festivals with harmony, love and affection. You can find small india over there. You can find people from all of India around your neighbourhood. Even though there is a diversity in the society but social harmony is very well there.
Till early 90s the climate was cold there as it is situated on the hills. There was heavy rain falls for 9 months in a year. But in last 15 years the weather has changed due to heavy deforestation and now it is little bit hot.
In our child hood we used to celebrate Durga pooja, Holi, chatt in a big way. Whole Kiriburu used to celebrate these festival in a big way. Still these festivals are one of the major festivals of Kiriburu - Meghahatuburu.
Apart from this, there were a popular trend for picnic during year end, the popular places were Thalkobaad, Padinaala, Bokna nala, Pundul, Chota Nagra, Prospecting Jharna, where we used to go for picnic with our parents or class mates.
I studied from Project Central school Kiriburu, which used to be one of the good school during our time. This school has produced lots of good student who are into different fields currently and most of them are leaders in their field. Similarly there are other good school like KV Meghahatuburu, Bihar School and Orissa state school which has also produced very good student and they are leading in their field. The basic thing is all of us have come from a very small & a very beautiful place and we are competing with others and we are successful this is because the basics which we have learnt in our child hood.
I want to write a lot about Kiriburu ...may be some time later..
One thing is for sure this place will remain very close to my heart.

I hav visited dis place once n hav lots f sweet memories... Itz a cool place.... n i tell u what..one can't imagine dat a place like dis exists in Jharkhand.... I ws surprised den...but ws plesured....

The mausam of Kiriburu is really pleasant,so if u go dere then u feel it.
A very silent Place where a smooth wind is blowing every time without any disturbance touches the mind with relaxness....believe it or not but it is really a truth.......
The height of kiriburu from ground level is approximately 4500 feet,means it is situated on Mountains.
Always cold whether of foggy whether.....

I was searching the net for some infor about kiriburu and found ur write-up...its very nice indeed. Actually I had been there when I was a kid, as my dad was posted in chaibasa...i think its a grand place to visit. In fact, I am taking my husband there for Xmas, this year. I am going there after a good 20 years, so its really really exciting!!!

most amazing article I ever expected in net about Kiriburu.I belong to that place.even in orkut i created one community for this place.some of the places u have missed r Panduli..in Base Camp.Ghagrati near to Bunker in kiriburu Plant,GiriRajeswari temple in Basecamp to hilltop Road.There are also no of beautiful girls in this place.Either u reach Barbil or Manoharpur ,,,u can ask local people to ask how to go to kbr if u have missed all the buses.hope u ll post some pictures also.

Only one thing I have to say that Kiriburu is the only place where u can enjoy. There r so many sweet memories there. I can't forget this place.i born & bought up in kiriburu. The play ground our school is bahut acha i mean lal maidan. Talab is very good, mangla hat vah and jamun, kusum khane me bahut maja aata hai.

what i ill say about kiriburu,simply no words- as i was born and brought up here, honestly speaking i spent my 16 long years in kiriburu as my father was a art teacher in project central school ,so do i even studied in that school -frankly speaking no words as my deepest emotions down there. havIng both good and bad memories....but some time i really miss my friend circle in kiriburu ,i would like to name the places where i was been to like prospectine,township,murgapara,defence colony, to name a few... for the last 11 years right after my father demise in kiriburu i settled in hong-kong and always having a shifting job,throughout east asia and the middle east like dubai,qatar,doha,singapore,baharain etc,anyway contact me if any of my friends existing till date on avrabono@gmail.com
Great to find a blog going on kiriburu .. whwnever i tell my freinds abt kiriburu , most of them mispronounce th efunniest being kilipul.. hahha ..whatsoever.. the place where i born n brought is always close to my heart .. n its always soothing to cum back to kiriburu despite the ugly roads we have to travel on.. the AAHH feeling when trekk up to kiriburu near "shanti Asthaal"... the excitment reaching near the check post .. everything so great .. n the irony u realise it when u r out for higher studies, nyways .. let keep this journey going.. Its really great to be part of this beautiful place. I have been out of this beautiful place for last seven years, almost all the big cities of India i visited and stayed there for some while but I find Kiriburu is the best place to dwell....

Its really BEAUTIFUL! Well"o"Well unfortunately it was night, so i couldn't see more of its beauty. Today,this is my 1st morning at Kiribur u n i m so excited n i can't wait so long coz i know n i can imagine the beauty of this place,n i think it was nothing much about this place what i have seen last night. . .
